1. We have heard learned counsel for the respective parties.

2. We are not inclined to entertain this writ petition styled as a Public Interest Litigation for more than one reason. Firstly, the building put up by the private respondents has been done about 20 years back and there is a valid building plan. It is not clear as to why all of a sudden, the petitioner has approached this Court and filed this writ petition. As rightly pointed out by the learned counsel appearing for the Howrah Municipal Corporation, the prayers sought for is against the authorities to take steps to ensure that no further illegal construction is being made. It is upto the Municipal Authorities to maintain strict vigilance of the area and conduct periodic inspection of the entire area falling within the jurisdiction of the

Howrah Municipal Corporation and take appropriate action wherever there is illegal and unauthorised construction is put up.

3. Thus, for the above reasons, we are not inclined to grant any relief as sought for in this writ petition and the same stands dismissed.
