As none appears on behalf of the State, Ms.

Barnali Gupta, learned advocate, who ordinarily appears for the State, is directed to represent the State. Her appointment may be regularised by the concerned authorities.

Petitioner is aggrieved by the fact that in spite of representation made on 30.04.2024 to the Officer-in-Charge, Asansol South Police Station, no steps have been taken. Petitioner alleges circulation of certain personal photographs as well as the passport to be misused by the accused.

Be that as it may, since the police authorities did not take any steps in spite of receipt of information, petitioner was compelled to approach this Court. Having regard to the nature of the accusation, I am of the view that if till date no steps have been taken, petitioner would be at liberty to approach the jurisdictional Magistrate under the relevant provisions of law.

With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition being WPA 15692 of 2024 is disposed of. Pending connected application, if any, is consequently disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.

All concerned parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
