The petitioner being an accused in connection with Swarupnagar Police Station Case No. 110/2022 under Section 21(C) of the NDPS Act has filed the instant application for a direction upon the Investigating Officer to file chemical examination report and the supplementary charge-sheet without further delay on the ground that the charge-sheet has been filed long time back on 6th April, 2022. Having heard the Learned Advocate for the petitioner and on perusal of the application, this Court is of the view that the instant revision can be disposed of here and now with the assistance of the Learned Public Prosecutor-in-Charge.

Mr. Ranabir Roychowdhury is requested to assist this Court on behalf of the State. The petitioner has already served a copy of the application to Mr. Roychowdhury. Appointment of Mr. Roychowdhury be regularized by the Learned Legal Remembrancer, Government of West Bengal.

It appears from the submission made by the Learned Counsels that trial of the case is delayed for want of chemical examination report of narcotics substance that was allegedly seized from the possession of the petitioner.

Therefore, the instant revision is disposed of directing the Investigating Officer to take expeditious step for obtaining chemical examination report and submit supplementary charge-sheet in the Trial Court preferably by the next date fixed. The application is thus disposed of.
