1. Affidavit of service filed in Court is taken on record.

2. None appears for the State.

3. The petitioner claims interest on delayed payment of terminal benefits. The petitioner superannuated from service of the WBTCL on March 31, 2021. He received his terminal benefits of Rs. 14,93,683/- towards provident fund on June 30, 2021 and

Rs.11,10,108/- towards leave encashment and gratuity on June 23, 2021.

4. The petitioner is entitled to interest for the period from April 01, 2021 to June 30, 2021 at the rate of 6 per cent per annum towards provident fund and from April 1, 2021 to June 23, 2021 at the rate of 6 per cent per annum towards gratuity and leave encashment. Let the same be paid to the petitioner by the WBTCL within a period of one month from date.

5. In default of payment as directed above, the rate of interest shall stand increased to 9 per cent per annum.

6. The writ petition is disposed of.

7. There will be no order as to costs.
