The petitioner has filed the present petition with an apprehension that Howrah Municipal Corporation intends to further demolish the residential building of the petitioner at 15/1, Jadab Das Lane, Shibpur, Howrah, under the jurisdiction of the Howrah Municipal Corporation, beyond the scope of the demolition order passed by the Corporation on December 20, 2023.

The learned advocate for the Corporation, however, submits that a partial demolition order was executed on January 17, 2024. Subsequently, the roof of the first floor was further demolished on March 11, 2024, which facilitated the opening of the blocked window of respondent no. 12. He further submits that no further demolition notice has been issued by the Corporation thereafter.

In light of the above, I find no reason to keep this writ petition pending.

Accordingly, WPA 15728 of 2024 is disposed of. Urgent certified website copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
