Petitioner is directed to serve a copy of the revisional application upon Mr. Sandip Chakraborty, learned advocate who ordinarily appears on behalf of the State. His appointment may be regularized by the concerned Authorities in due course. Mr. Chakraborty, learned advocate for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody since 26th April, 2022 i.e., more than 14 months and although chargesheet has been submitted and the prosecution has relied upon 10 witnesses, only two witnesses have been examined till date.

. Learned advocate submits that the next date has been fixed on 6th July, 2023.

Having considered the period of detention, I direct that although the trial is progressing smoothly, the learned trial court is directed to take into account the anxiety so expressed. The learned trial court would see to it that the date of next evidence is fixed on regular intervals so that the trial of the case can be taken to its logical conclusion within a reasonable period of time. No

unnecessary adjournments should be granted to either of the parties. The Public Prosecutor appearing in the case would produce the materials, documents and exhibits on the dates fixed for examination of the witnesses concerned. In case any of the witnesses belonging to the government is not present or is reluctant, the learned special court would inform the concerned Superintendent of Police for compelling the appearance of the said witness. All efforts be taken by the stake-holders to complete the trial at the earliest.

With the aforesaid observations, the present revisional application being CRR 2296 of 2023 is disposed of. Pending applications, if any, are consequently disposed of.
