Allegedly the respondent-Kolkata Municipal Corporation is inactive in ensuring supply of water to the petitioner who is admittedly the tenant of the concerned premises. A report has been submitted on behalf of the respondent-Kolkata Municipal Corporation which speaks that the water connection in the concerned premises is not affected by any hindrance whatsoever.

Learned Advocate appearing on behalf of the respondents submits that due to the dispute between the tenant and the landlord, the tenant/petitioner might have suffered some inconvenience.

Record reveals that the petitioner has already submitted a representation before the respondent-Kolkata Municipal Corporation dated 17.05.2024 extending his proposals for separate water supply connection to his premises. Let the respondent-Kolkata Municipal Corporation consider and dispose of the same in accordance with law.

The exercise as above shall be concluded by the respondent-Kolkata Municipal Corporation within a period of three weeks from the date of communication of a copy of this order.

In doing so, the respondent-Kolkata Municipal Corporation shall afford opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and the land owners and also allow them to submit further representations in continuation of the representation dated 17.05.2024, if any. 6.

The writ petition is disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.
