Petitioner is directed to serve a copy of the revisional application upon Mr. Pravas Bhattacharyya, learned advocate who ordinarily appears on behalf of the State. His appointment may be regularized by the concerned Authorities in due course. Mr. Chakraborty, learned advocate for the petitioner submits that although the chargesheet has been submitted and charge has already been framed against the petitioner and the petitioner is in custody for about 13 months, but till date no witness has been examined. The next date has been fixed by the learned trial court on and from 18th August, 2023. Petitioner also submits that he is physically handicapped.

In view of the plight so expressed by the learned advocate for the petitioner, I direct that no unnecessary adjournments should be granted to either of the parties. The learned trial court would see to it that the date of next evidence is fixed on regular intervals so that the trial of the case can be taken to its logical conclusion within a

reasonable period of time. The Public Prosecutor appearing in the cases would produce the materials, documents and exhibits on the dates fixed for examination of the witnesses concerned. In case any of the witnesses belonging to the government is not present or is reluctant, the learned special court would inform the concerned Superintendent of Police for compelling the appearance of the said witness. All efforts be taken by the stake-holders to complete the trial at the earliest.

With the aforesaid observations, the present revisional application being CRR 2297 of 2023 is disposed of. Pending applications, if any, are consequently disposed of. All concerned parties are to act in terms of a copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this court. [Tirthankar Ghosh, J]
