1. Affidavit of service filed in Court is taken on record.

2. None appears for the State.

3. The petitioner claims interest on delayed payment of terminal benefits. The petitioner superannuated from service of the WBTCL on October 06, 2023. He received his terminal benefits of Rs. 4,21,288/- towards provident fund on July 12, 2024 and

Rs.5,38,372/- towards leave encashment and gratuity on December 28, 2023.

4. The petitioner is entitled to interest for the period from October 07, 2023 to July 12, 2024 at the rate of 6 per cent per annum towards provident fund and from October 7, 2023 to December 28, 2023 at the rate of 6 per cent per annum towards gratuity and leave encashment. Let the same be paid to the petitioner by the WBTCL within a period of one month from date.

5. In default of payment as directed above, the rate of interest shall stand increased to 9 per cent per annum.

6. The writ petition is disposed of.

7. There will be no order as to costs.
