By way of this contempt application under the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971, the petitioner has sought for punishment of the contemner/respondent concerned in the writ petition for violation of an order dated September 14, 2000 passed in WP No.17617(W) of 2000.

While the application was affirmed on October 16, 2002, the applicant was then about 42 years old. Now, it seems that he has attained the age of superannuation. The order of the writ petition pertains to transfer of the petitioner.

Since filing of the contempt application, none moved to press it.

I feel that the petitioner is no longer interested to proceed with the application on hand.

Accordingly, the contempt application stands dismissed for non-appearance of the petitioner. [Rabindranath Samanta, J]
