The short scope of the writ petition is that, although pursuant to a Resolution of the RTA, Burdwan dated August 20, 2004 (Annexure-P1 at page-21 of the writ petition), a sub-committee was appointed to decide the matters as indicated in the said resolution, such subcommittee, after being formed on September 14, 2004 and continuing for some time, was discontinued. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that no contrary resolution has been taken subsequently by the RTA. As such, the petitioners gave a representation to the respondents-authorities on April 21, 2022 to continue the system pursuant to the Resolution dated August 20, 2004.

Heard learned counsel.

WPA 15062 of 2022 is disposed of accordingly by directing the respondents-authorities to consider the representation dated April 21, 2022 (Annexure-P3 at

page-23 of the writ petition) for continuation of functioning of the sub-committee pursuant to the Resolution dated August 20, 2004 and decide the same, upon hearing the petitioners and all other interested parties, if any, in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible, positively within three weeks from the date of communication of this order to the respondents. The petitioners' advocate shall communicate this order to the respondents at the earliest. Upon such communication, the respondents shall act on the learned advocate's communication, in conjunction with a server copy of this order, without insisting upon prior production of a certified copy, for the purpose of implementation of this direction.

There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat copies of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
