The petitioner is an Associate Professor of the subject Bengali at Jamalpur Mahavidyalaya, Jamalpur, District: Purba Burdwan, a State aided college under Burdwan University. The petitioner is aspiring for the post of Principal of any State aided college but since she has crossed the upper age limit to participate in the recruitment process for the said post, she has applied for enhancement of the said upper age limit. The petitioner, by a representation, has prayed for such enhancement, which is pending before the Principal Secretary, Department of Higher Education, Government of West Bengal, the respondent no.2 herein. The petitioner is praying disposal of her such representation by the said respondent.

Mr. Subir Sanyal, learned senior advocate for the petitioner submits that the pending representation is lacking with some vital inputs necessary for disposal of the prayer of the petitioner, therefore, he prays that leave may be granted to the petitioner to submit a more comprehensive representation before the said respondent.

As prayed for, leave is granted to the petitioner to submit a comprehensive representation within a period of seven days from date to the respondent no. 2 praying such enhancement of the upper age limit enabling her to participate in the recruitment process for appointment in the post of Principal in any State aided college.

In the event, the said representation is made within the said period, the respondent no.2 shall consider the same in accordance with law and shall communicate his deliberation on it to the petitioner as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of four weeks from the date of submission of the said application.

Since no affidavit has been invited, the allegations made in the writ petition are deemed to have been denied by the respondents.

WPA 14803 of 2025 is thus disposed of without any order as to costs.

It is made clear that this Court has not gone into the merit of the matter.
