Petitioner is aggrieved by the fact that in spite of informing the Inspector-in-Charge, Basanti Police Station, Sundarban Police District, no steps were taken.

I have considered the contents of the representation. The same refers to incidents of 12.12.2024 although the same was sent on 29.05.2025.

State has submitted a report. Report reflects that Basanti P.S. Case No.957 of 2024 dated 13.12.2024 was registered for investigation under the relevant provisions of BNS. The police authorities on conclusion have already submitted charge-sheet against the respondent nos.4, 5, 6 and five others.

Having considered that there is an existing civil dispute between the petitioner and the private respondents, I am of the view that the police authorities would keep a strict vigil and ensure that no untoward incident results because of the inimical relationship existing between the petitioner and the private respondents. If the petitioner is faced with further inconveniences, he will approach with an appropriate application before the jurisdictional court. Jurisdictional court will consider the relevant provisions of Witness Protection Scheme, 2018 and pass necessary directions.

With the aforesaid observations, WPA 14799 of 2025 is disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.

Report so submitted be kept with the record.

Copy of the report be handed over to both the parties.

All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
