The writ petitioner prays for interest on delayed payment of arrears of pension, since after the death of her husband.

For the purpose of getting arrears, W.P.A. No. 5585 of 2019 was filed. The said proceeding was disposed of in W.P.C.R.C. No. 19 of 2021, by an order dated 17th March, 2021.

At the time when the original writ petition was disposed of, even the contempt proceedings of this Court did not make any order with regard to interest. Mr. Manna, Counsel for the petitioner also fairly submits that his client did not make out any plea/prayer for interest at the relevant point of time. This Court is of the view that the prayer for interest cannot now be raised. The petitioner had the

opportunity of agitating such grievance in the earlier writ petition, and had not done so.

In view of the above, the writ petition is disposed of without any orders.

There will be no order as to costs.

All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
