For the appellant/CBI This Special Leave Petition is filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (hereinafter referred to as "CBI") assailing the judgment and order passed by the learned Judge, Special (CBI) Court, Asansol in connection with Special Case No.70 of 2011 with regard to offence under Sections 7/13(1)(d) read with Section 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 read with Section 120B of the Indian Penal Code.

In that case, one of the accused Amit Kumar Kedia was convicted but the accused Samar Kumar Chakraborty was acquitted of the charge and being aggrieved by and dissatisfied with the said order of acquittal passed by the learned Judge, Special (CBI) Court, Asansol, this Special Leave to Appeal has been preferred before this Court.

After careful perusal of the judgment and after hearing the learned advocate appearing on behalf of CBI, the Special Leave Petition is allowed with a direction to prefer the appeal within the statutory period of 30 days.

Accordingly, the Special Leave Petition stands disposed of. (Bibhas Ranjan De, J.)
