Ghalib Rizwan ...for the petitioner Mr. Rajarshi Basu Mr. Subrata Das Gupta ..for the State Mr. Debanjan Mukherjee ..for CESC Limited By filing the present writ petition, the petitioner seeks an electricity connection for his residence. Interestingly, the learned Advocate appearing on behalf of the Calcutta Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) Limited submits that even prior to the institution of this writ petition, an electricity connection had already been provided to the petitioner. It is categorically stated that a meter was installed on June 19, 2024, and intimation to that effect was duly communicated to the petitioner on June 24, 2024.

The petitioner now contends that although the meter has been installed, no electricity supply is being received at his premises.

The learned Advocate for CESC Limited submits that the issue may be resolved by the petitioner himself through the engagement of a competent and qualified

technician or engineer. It is submitted that CESC Limited has no further role to play in this regard. In view of the above, there is no necessity to keep the present writ petition pending.

Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of. The petitioner is at liberty to engage a competent and qualified technician/engineer to resolve his problem. Consequently, WPA 14792 of 2025 is disposed of. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the learned advocates for the parties on usual undertakings.
