Despite service, no one appears on behalf of the private respondents.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits as follows. The private respondents have built an unauthorised construction on land vested in the State. In fact, they have encroached upon some portions of the petitioner's land as well. The petitioner made a representation in this regard before the concerned authorities on 21st May, 2024 so that action can be taken under the West Bengal Public Land (Eviction of Unauthorised Occupants) Act, 1962. But, the same has not been responded to as yet.

Learned senior counsel representing the State submits that in the event a representation is pending before the concerned authorities the same shall be considered in accordance with law.

In view of the above, the writ petition is disposed of by directing the respondent no.3 to consider the petitioner's

representation as referred to above in accordance with law and after giving the concerned parties an opportunity of hearing as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order may be supplied to the parties expeditiously, if applied for. (Jay Sengupta, J.)
