Guha Mr. Pankaj Halder ......for the State This is an application under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for direction upon the respondent police authority to consider the case of the petitioner regarding police verification report for the post of Supervisor (female only) of ICDS being roll No. 0901258 under the Women and Child Development & Social Welfare Department, Government of West Bengal. A report filed on behalf of the State is taken on record.

Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits as follows. There is a criminal case initiated by the petitioner's brother's wife under Sections 498A/406/506 IPC where the petitioner has also been made an accused. Because of pendency of such criminal case, a clear police report is not being submitted by the respondent authorities.

Sreerampur P.S. case charge-sheet No. 41 of 2020 dated 30.11.2020 under Sections 498A/406/506 IPC has already been submitted against the petitioner and the other accused. Furthermore, it does not appear that there is any requirement to file a police verification report in connection with the present employment. I have heard the submissions of the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the parties and have perused the writ petition and the report filed on behalf of the State.

It appears from the verification roll duly filled up by the petitioner that she had not suppressed about the submission of charge-sheet in her application. If there is a requirement for the police to submit a police verification report, the same may be submitted by the respondent authorities in accordance with law. With these observations, the writ petition is disposed of.

Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
