The State of West Bengal and others Mr. Sandip Ghosh, Mr. Partha Sarkar .... for the petitioner Mr. Tanoy Chakraborty, Ms. Sinthia Bala .... for the State Learned counsel for the petitioner makes an innocuous prayer to the effect that the application made by the petitioner before the respondent no.2authority under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007 (hereinafter referred to as "the 2007 Act").

Since implicit urgency is involved in such matters, WPA No. 14807 of 2023 is disposed of by directing the respondent no.2 to decide the application filed by the petitioner under Section 23 of the 2007 Act as expeditiously as possible and in accordance with law, upon giving adequate opportunity of hearing to all concerned, positively within two months from the date of communication of this order to the respondent no.2. The petitioner shall communicate this order to the respondent no.2 and the said

respondent shall act on a server copy of this order without insisting upon prior production of a certified copy, for the purpose of compliance. This order, however, shall be subject to the petitioner filing a proper affidavit-of-service during the course of the day.

There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
