1. The Joint Secretary, Department of Mass Education Extension & Library Services, Government of West Bengal has filed a compliance report in which inter alia it has been stated :

"7. After a series of exchange of clarifications and deliberations, the Finance Department has examined and modified the draft and approved the same for taking necessary action towards the issue of the order and compliance of the solemn judgment and order dated 15.9.2023 passed by the Hon'ble High Court, Calcutta vide its U.O. No. Pension / 2025-2026 / 0209, dated 04.8.2025.

8. Now, this Deponent has also issued the Memorandum vide No. 950/MEE/Sectt., dated 06.8.2025 extending pension or Family pension in respect of the employees of their widows of Government Sponsored Special School Voluntary Organizations as specified under Order No. 519-Edn (SE), dated 23.8.1973 / Welfare Homes / Government Sponsored and Government Aided Libraries who retired or died-inharness on or before 01.4.1981 and the same is forwarded to the Director of Library, West Bengal and the Director of Mass Education, West Bengal for taking necessary action and giving wide circulation to all concerned."

2. A copy of the memorandum dated 06.8.2025 is also annexed to this report.

3. It has been further stated that the copy of the said memorandum is also forwarded to all concerned including the District Library Officer, Bankura being the pension

sanctioning authority. It appears from Annexure R1 to the compliance report commencement date for the pension is mentioned as 04.8.2025 and the petitioner has been given an identity number UO NO: Pension/2025-2026/0209 dated 04.8.2025.

4. It is needless to mention that department concerned shall ensure that the pension is paid in time. All incidental steps towards immediate release of pension should be completed at the earliest. The unqualified apology tendered by the alleged contemnor is accepted and proceeding stands dropped.

5. Accordingly, the contempt application is disposed of.

6. The original compliance report filed in Court today is taken on record.
