Petitioner is directed to serve a copy of the revisional application upon Ms. Baisali Basu, learned advocate, who ordinarily appears on behalf of the State. Her appointment may be regularized by the concerned Authority in due course. Learned advocate for the petitioner submits that the present case was initiated in the year 2017 and charge-sheet was submitted on 11th December, 2019. Subsequently, charge was framed on 7th January, 2023. The prosecution in the charge-sheet has cited 17 witnesses and till date, none of the witnesses have been examined. The next date is fixed on 19th August, 2023.

In view of the nature of the anxiety complained of, I direct the learned trial Court that on and from the next date so fixed, the learned trial Court would ensure that once in a month, a schedule of two dates shall be fixed for taking the trial to its logical conclusion. No unnecessary adjournment should be granted to either of the parties. The learned Public

Prosecutor conducting the case would produce the material documents and exhibits on the dates so fixed for examination of the witnesses.

The Additional Superintendent of Police/SDPO/DSP in charge of Uluberia Police Station would act as a Nodal Officer of this case so that the appearance of the witnesses are ensured on the dates so fixed and the learned trial Court/Special Court would seek assistance from the concerned officer in case there is laches of the witnesses to appear before the court or as the materials which are required to be produced, are not available. All stakeholders are directed to cooperate with the trial Court for concluding the trial at the earliest.

With the aforesaid observations, CRR 2310 of 2023 is disposed of. Pending application, if any, is also disposed of. All parties shall act on the server copies of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. (Tirthankar Ghosh, J.)
