Petitioner is in custody for more than six years. He submits there is inordinate delay in trial.
Learned Advocate for the State opposes the bail prayer. He submits trial is at its fag end.
We have considered the materials on record. Allegations are grave. Date has been fixed for arguments. In view of the mature stage of the trial, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.
Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected.
We request the trial court to conclude the proceeding within three months from the next date without fail. Parties shall communicate this order to the trial court for due compliance.
