The petitioner alleges that his father's name has been wrongly recorded in the voters' list. According to the petitioner, instead of his father's name, his wife's name has been inserted.

It has been submitted that an application made for correction of the same has been rejected. 3.

The Court is not aware as to why the application seeking correction of the father's name in the voters' list has been rejected by the authority. 4.

In view of the above, leave is granted to the petitioner to make a fresh formal application before the Sub-Divisional Officer, Baruipur highlighting all the discrepancies in his description in the voters' list.

On receipt of such application, the SDO shall deal with the same in accordance with law at the earliest.

If the grievance of the petitioner appears to be

proper, then necessary remedial steps shall be taken by the authority.

It will be open for the SDO to conduct an inquiry, if necessary, to ascertain proper facts prior to taking a final decision.

The writ petition stands disposed of.

All parties are to act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this court.

Certified copy of this order, if applied for, shall be made available to the parties.
