This Court has been informed by Mr. Jishnu Chowdhury, learned Senior Advocate and Mr.
Susovan Sengupta, learned Advocate (VC) appearing for the alleged contemnor, that the present alleged contemnor in the petition has been transferred and Dr. Srikant Palli is the new incumbent.
It is further submitted that an appeal has been carried out from the order dated November 4, 2024
which has been registered as MAT No. 608 of 2026 coupled with an application filed under Section 5 of the Limitation Act. The order from which contempt arose has not yet been stayed.
However, the new incumbent is impleaded. The formal impleadment shall be carried out by the learned advocate on record for the petitioner by putting his signature on the cause title of the original application and amended contempt application shall be served upon the new incumbent. Affidavit-ofservice shall be filed on the next day. The matter shall appear under the heading 'Contempt Application' on June 26, 2026.
Depending upon the result of the appeal, in the meantime, the contemnors shall not be precluded to comply with the direction of this Court dated November 4, 2024 and file a compliance report in due course, subject to the outcome in the appeal. (Aniruddha Roy, J.)
