The writ petition was preferred as the petitioner was aggrieved by the inaction of the police authorities as no FIR was registered pursuant to the information having been submitted. Petitioner's main grievance is that there was withdrawal of the matured amount by the nominee, namely, one Sanatan Mallick. To that effect, information was furnished with the Officer-in-Charge, Maheshtala Police Station on or about 29.05.2024.

As none appears on behalf of State, Mr.

Ranjit Rajak, learned advocates, is directed to represent the State.

His appearance may be regularized by the concerned authorities.

In case police authorities till date did not take any steps, petitioner would approach the police station with a reminder in respect of the information earlier furnished. Police authorities would enquire and thereafter take steps in accordance with law,

preferably within a period of 14 days from the date of such reminder.

With the aforesaid observations, WPA 16025 of 2024 is disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.

All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
