12.07.2022 Ct. 5 D/L 16 ab WPA 13922 of 2019 Khairul Islam -VsThe State of West Bengal & Ors.

Mr. Arindam Chattopadhyay, Ms. Lipika Chatterjee, Mr. Soumik Dey, ... for the petitioner Mr. Arjun Samanta, ... for the State Ms. Sanchita Barman Roy ... for the respondent no. 14 The supplementary affidavit is kept on record. The only prayer of the petitioner is that 45 persons identified by the Raghunathganj-I Panchayat Samiti, Murshidabad, on 21st October, 2019 for getting the benefit of the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana (Gramin) be looked into and disposed of by the authorities in an expeditious manner.

Learned counsel appearing for the State submits that a list annexed to the supplementary affidavit reflects the names of 45 persons, who had earlier filed a petition before the concerned authority for getting the benefit under the Scheme.

After hearing learned counsel, this Court is of the view that the writ petition can be disposed of with a direction on the respondent no. 4 being the District Magistrate, Murshidabad to take appropriate steps in accordance with the Statement forming part of the letter dated 21st October, 2019, as disclosed in the supplementary affidavit. The letter mentions that the final list will be approved by the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India and will be available in the website. Admittedly, no further steps have been taken after the letter of 21st October, 2019. The concerned respondent is accordingly directed to take steps within a period of ten weeks from date. WPA 13922 of 2019 is disposed of in terms of the above.
