Petitioner is directed to serve a copy of the revisional application upon Mr. Arijit Ganguly, learned advocate who ordinarily appears on behalf of the State. His appointment may be regularized by the concerned Authorities in due course. Learned advocate for the petitioner/de facto complainant is aggrieved by the factum and the manner in which the present proceedings are progressing before the learned Judicial Magistrate, Bidhannagar, North 24 Parganas in connection with GR No. 197 of 2018.

Learned advocate submits that in the chargesheet prosecution has proposed to rely upon 12 witnesses, but till date even the evidence of a single witness has not been completed. Learned advocate further submits that more than three and half years have passed since the framing of the charge, as such the prosecution must be directed to conclude the trial within scheduled period of time.

Having regard to the fact that the case was registered on March 29, 2018 and more than five years have passed since the initiation and registration of the case, I am of the view that the learned trial court should fix at least one date in a month so that within a reasonable period of time, the trial can be concluded. The Additional Commissioner of Police in Charge of Bidhannagar (S) Police Station would act as a Nodal Officer of the case and take steps by ensuring the presence of the witnesses on the dates so fixed. The Public Prosecutor appearing in the case would produce the materials, documents and exhibits on the dates fixed for examination of the witnesses concerned. All efforts be taken by the stake-holders to complete the trial at the earliest preferably by 31st December, 2024. .

With the aforesaid observations, the present revisional application being CRR 2325 of 2023 is disposed of. Pending applications, if any, are consequently disposed of.
