The petitioner seeks exemption from election duty. He is serving as an Assistant Teacher of Sahapur Mathuranath Vidyapith (H.S).

The petitioner has made out several grounds on which his prayer for exemption from election duty be considered.

A representation is pending consideration at the end of the District Magistrate, South 24-Parganas. Without going into the merits of the said representation, the instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the respondent no. 4 to take a decision on the representation filed by the petitioner.

A decision shall be taken in the matter at the earliest, but positively by 26th June, 2023.

Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner is directed to forward to the aforesaid respondent a copy of the representation along with all documents in support of his prayer for exemption at the time of communicating the order of the Court.

The writ petition stands disposed of.
