It has been submitted by the learned advocate representing the petitioner that after filing of the writ petition the victims, whose names are appearing in the complaint lodged before the Commissioner of Police appearing at pages 57 to 61, have returned to their respective homes.

Grievance of the petitioner is that several complaints lodged before the police alleging post poll violence has not been taken up for consideration. Learned advocate representing the State respondents relies upon the instruction forwarded by the Officer-in-Charge, Beliaghata PS signed on 20.06.2024 giving details of the criminal cases initiated in response to the complaints under reference.

It has been submitted that strict vigil is being maintained and investigation is continuing.

Let a copy of the report be circulated amongst all the respective parties.

The police are directed to continue with the investigation in response to the complaint lodged by the petitioner and on behalf of the victims in accordance with law and to conclude the same at the earliest. The police shall ensure that peace is maintained at the locale.

The writ petition stands disposed of.

Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
