The grievance of the petitioners is that they were prevented/obstructed from filing their nominations for participating in the Panchayat General Elections, 2023. The petitioners submit that on June 15, 2023 objection seeking intervention was filed by the political party which the petitioners are representing before the Commissioner of the State Election Commission but the same has not been considered till date.

Representation was also made before the Hon'ble Governor.

It appears that the last date for filing the nomination was June 15, 2023, the date for scrutiny was June 17, 2023 and the last date for withdrawal of candidature was June 20, 2023. The petitioners have approached this Court on June 23, 2023.

I am afraid that at this delayed point of time the prayer of the petitioners for filing the nomination cannot be accepted.

It will be open for the petitioners to approach the appropriate forum for remedy of their grievances, if so advised.

The writ petition stands disposed of.

Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
