The petitioner prays for a direction upon the Superintendent of Police, Ranaghat Police District, Kalyani to act in terms of the request of the District Magistrate, Nadia dated May 20, 2022 with regard to the mass petition dated May 12, 2022.

The learned advocate for the respondent nos. 8 and 9 submits that the BMOH, Bagula Rural Hospital, Hanskhali Block has issued a notice to the respondents for verification of the handicapped certificate. The respondents appeared before the said authority, but is not aware as to whether any further decision had been taken or not.

Under such circumstances, nothing remains to be decided in the application. The Superintendent of Police, Ranaghat Police District is requested to take steps on the basis of the request made by the District Magistrate and file appropriate report before the District Magistrate, preferably within a period of six weeks from date. The merits of the allegations made by the petitioner have not been gone into.

The writ petition is accordingly disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
