Petitioners are directed to serve a copy of the revisional application upon Mrs. Anasuya Sinha, learned advocate who ordinarily appears on behalf of the State. Her appointment may be regularized by the concerned Authorities in due course. Mr. Chowdhury, learned advocate appearing for the petitioners submits that Deganga P. S. Case No. 294 of 2019 was initiated on 08.06.2019. Consequently, chargesheet was submitted before the jurisdictional court on 31st July, 2019 and till date there has been a partial progress in the case.
Having regard to the fact that the prosecution has relied upon six witnesses to prove its case and till date after framing of charge partially one witness has been examined, I am of the view that the learned trial court should fix regular dates on intervals so that the trial can be taken to its logical conclusion within a reasonable period of time.
Accordingly, the learned Judicial Magistrate, 1st Court,
Barasat is directed that once in every three months a date is fixed for the purpose of the case so that the trial concludes at the earliest. The Public Prosecutor appearing in the cases would produce the materials, documents and exhibits on the dates fixed for examination of the witnesses concerned. No unnecessary adjournments should be granted to any of the parties. The trial of the case would continue so far as this case is concerned in respect of any resolution taken by the local Bar. All efforts be taken by the stake-holders to complete the trial at the earliest preferably by 30th June, 2025.
With the aforesaid observations, the present revisional application being CRR 2332 of 2023 is disposed of. Pending applications, if any, are consequently disposed of. All concerned parties are to act in terms of a copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this court. [Tirthankar Ghosh, J]
