The CESC authorities, upon holding inspection and upon taking further instructions, have come back with certain information which reveal that from a newly constructed meter room, supply was granted to one Biswajit Halder and one Keshab Dubey. The meter in the name of Keshab Dubey was installed sometime in April 2024. Thus, this Court is of the view that if the sweet shop owner and other shop owner had been granted supply from the newly constructed meter room, the petitioner shall also be granted supply by installation of the meter inside the said meter room, by a new commercial loop meter.

Needless to mention, the connection shall not create any equity, in favour of the petitioner, insofar as, the respondent nos.6 and 7 are concerned. Police assistance shall be given to the CESC at the cost of the petitioner. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of.
