The petitioners pray for removal of encroachers from the Government plot of land.

The representation filed by the petitioners is pending consideration before the Executive Engineer, Tamluk Highway Division.

Learned advocate representing the State respondents relies upon the instruction forwarded by the Assistant Engineer, Tamluk Highway Sub-Division, Public Works (Roads) Directorate dated 5th July, 2024 which mentions that the Block Land and Land Reforms Officer, Sahid Matangini, Tamluk,

Purba Medinipur has been requested for early demarcation of the Government plot in front of the rayati land of the petitioners.

There is no further report as to whether or not the Block Land and Land Reforms Officer has taken steps for demarcating the Government land.

The aforesaid officer shall ensure that the subject plot is demarcated forthwith for the purpose of identifying the Government land if not demarcated earlier.

In view of the above, the instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the Executive Engineer, Public Works (Roads), Directorate, Tamluk Highway Division to take prompt necessary steps to remove the encroachers from the Government plot of land in accordance with law at the earliest but positively within a period of twelve weeks from the date of communication of this order. 7.

Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
