.......Petitioners Mr. Aniket Mitra ...for the Petitioners Since the innocuous prayer of the petitioner is for expeditious disposal of the G.R.No. 237 of 2007 pending before the learned Judicial Magistrate, 2nd Court, Howrah the matter may be disposed of without service of notice upon the opposite party. The opposite party shall not be prejudiced by an order of expeditious disposal of the matter.

It appears that the case was registered in 2007 and charge has been framed on July 16, 2010. Out of 27 charge sheeted witnesses, 7 witnesses have been examined.

The matter was adjourned on several dates since the prosecution was unable to produce witnesses before the Court. As the matter is pending since long, the application being CRR No. 2495 of 2024 is disposed of directing learned Judicial Magistrate, 2nd Court, Howrah to dispose of the proceedings being G.R.No. 237 of 2007 pending before him within one year from the next date of evidence fixed before him without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either party, in accordance with law. CRR No. 2495 of 2024 is disposed of accordingly.
