Petitioners are aggrieved by the fact that in spite of informing the police authorities, no steps have been taken. Petitioners happen to be mother and two of the sons while the private respondents are son, daughter-in-law and other residents of the locality. State has submitted a report. Report reflects that the issue arose with respect to operation of a tap over which there were misbehaviour between the petitioners and the private respondents. Police authorities have drawn up proceedings under Sections 126/135 of the BNSS.

On the other hand, learned advocate for the private respondents submits that a mass petition was

filed with the Officer-in-Charge of Uttarpara Police Station against the petitioner nos.2 and 3 Having regard to the fact that a family feud is persisting over the issue of a tap as has been contended in the police report, I direct that the petitioner no.1 being a senior citizen, if she has any grievance so far as her sons are concerned, would approach the appropriate tribunal under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizen Act, 2007. However, so far as the family feud is concerned, police authorities would continue to oversee that no further untoward incident results. With the aforesaid observations, WPA 15210 of 2025 is disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.

Report submitted by the State and the photostat copy of the mass petition filed by the private respondents be kept with the record.

All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
