Mr. Bibaswan Bhattacharya ...... for the State Petitioner is in custody for 185 days. It is submitted there is no direct evidence connecting him with the murder. Learned lawyer for the State opposes the prayer for bail. We have considered the materials on record including statement of the victim's mother recorded under Section 164 Cr.P.C. She states that the victim had contacted her over phone and stated that the petitioner was assaulting him. Petitioner snatched the phone and threatened the mother of the victim. Call detail records corroborate the aforesaid statement. In view of the aforesaid incriminating materials and gravity of the offence, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.
