The petitioner alleges that despite order passed by this Court for ensuring water supply, the petitioner is left without water.

It appears that the engineers of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation, by a communication dated March 12, 2024, requested the petitioner to apply through the Corporation's authorized plumber for obtaining new filter water connection at the subject premises and submit the relevant documents as mentioned therein.

The communication also mentions that there is one existing filter water connection at the subject premises and filter water supply is normal at the tap point.

The petitioner alleges that none of the enlisted plumbers are agreeable to perform the work of the petitioner. The petitioner further submits that there is already an existing reservoir which can be used by the Corporation.

Upon hearing the submission made on behalf of the petitioner and on perusal of the documents placed

before this Court, it appears that the grievance of the petitioner may be genuine, but the said grievance cannot be redressed in the contempt jurisdiction. 5.

The petitioner has been directed to perform certain works for complying the direction passed by this Court for supplying water to her premises. Till the petitioner complies with the formalities required under the law, direction cannot be passed upon the Corporation to supply water.

It will be open for the petitioner to take necessary steps for compliance of the formalities for obtaining the water connection.

The contempt application is thus disposed of. 8.
