Report filed by the State be kept with the records. We find that the petitioner was taken into custody in March, 2022. Section 52A of the NDPS Act was complied with on April 5, 2022.

We further see that by an order dated November 1, 2023, passed by a coordinate bench in CRM (NDPS) 1793 of 2023, being an application for bail filed by a co-accused person, while rejecting the prayer for bail, the Bench directed the learned Trial Court to conclude the trial as expeditiously as possible, positively within a year from the date of that order.

Therefore, we find that time has been granted till the end of October, 2024 for conclusion of the trial. In view of the aforesaid and in view of the commercial quantity of heroin having been seized from the petitioner, we are not inclined to entertain the petitioner's prayer for bail.

CRM (NDPS) 998 of 2024 is, thus, dismissed.
