The petitioner renews his prayer for bail which was rejected on September 12, 2023 and then on February 29, 2024.

Considering that the petitioner is in custody for about 1 year 5 months, we had called for a report from the State. Such report has been filed. Le the same be kept with the records.

It appears that the petitioner is the husband of the victim lady who was set on fire. Other accused persons being the petitioner's relations were and some of them are still absconding. That has caused delay in the progress of the trial. August 21, 2024 has been fixed for consideration of charges.

We see from the records that the victim lady had made statements before her mother implicating the petitioner in the alleged murder. Twice the petitioner's prayer for bail was rejected on merits. Under those circumstances, we are not inclined to entertain the petitioner's prayer for bail, at this stage.

However, considering that the petitioner is in custody for quite some time, we direct the learned trial Court to expedite the trial to the fullest extent and conclude the same as soon as possible.

The application for bail being CRM (DB) 1926 of 2024 is, thus, dismissed.

All parties shall act on the server copies of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. Criminal Section is directed to supply certified copies of this order to the parties, if applied for, upon compliance of all necessary formalities.
