Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has presented a document for registration. However, the respondent authorities have taken a stand that the stamp paper used for registering the document was forged.

The petitioner is willing to deposit the amount equivalent to the forged stamp papers.

Learned counsel also cites certain judgments of coordinate Benches and a Division Bench judgment in that regard.

The law is well-settled that in such cases, the petitioner, upon furnishing an amount equivalent to the forged stamp paper, is entitled to get the registered deed bearing deed no. 3188 of the year 1990 before the

Additional District Sub-Registrar, Contai-I, District-Purba Medinipur (respondent no.4 herein).

Accordingly, WPA 15149 of 2023 is disposed of, directing the petitioner to deposit the amount equivalent to the allegedly forged stamp papers within a fortnight from date.

Upon the deposit of the said amount, the registering authorities shall release the registered document in favour of the petitioner.

There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat copies of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
