The petitioner is aggrieved by the fact that in spite of Kharagpur Local Police Station Case No. 250 of 2023 dated 03.03.2023 having been registered for investigation, but no steps have been taken for progressing with the investigation. State has submitted a report which reflects that investigation of the case is still in progress. I have considered the report and I find that after more than 27 months, the police authorities could not arrive at their conclusion.

Learned advocate appearing for the private respondent no.6 submits that there was a

commercial transaction. As such, the respondent no.6 was unaware regarding the criminal case pending, but after filing of the writ petition only it has come to the knowledge of the private respondent.

Be that as it may, since more than 27 months have passed and the police authorities are yet to arrive at a conclusion regarding the investigation, henceforth the SDPO/Additional SP in-charge of Kharagpur Local Police Station will monitor the investigation of Kharagpur Local Police Station Case No. 250 of 2023 dated 03.03.2023. The Investigating Officer of the case every fifteen days will submit a progress report to the SDPO/Additional SP in-charge of the case. The concerned SDPO/Additional SP would submit a progress report before the jurisdictional court regarding the manner in which the investigation is designed for being taken to its logical conclusion. With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition being WPA 15119 of 2025 is disposed of. There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
