1. The petitioner, a otherwise meritorious student of the Raiganj University, is aggrieved that his Ph.D programme could not be completed due to non-appointment of a supervisor for completion of the course.

2. Pursuant to the directions from the Court, Mr. Mondal, learned Advocate appearing for the University had made efforts to ascertain if the petitioner could re-register in the programme. Unfortunately, this cannot be done.

3. Mr. Mondal, submits that the petitioner had not kept in touch with the University in spite of being allotted a supervisor on account whereof the registration of the petitioner has already lapsed. Thus, the petitioner cannot be re-registered.

4. In view of the afore-stated, the petitioner will be at liberty to take fresh admission to the University for such Ph.D programme.

5. Initiation of this proceeding will not act as a bar nor prejudice the authorities in granting fresh admission to the petitioner, as and when he applies for the same upon a notification being issued by the University.

6. With these observations, WPA 15293 of 2025 is disposed of. No order as to costs.
