Mr. Parthapratim Das Mrs. Manasi Roy ...... for the State Petitioner is in custody for 152 days. He prays for bail. Learned lawyer for the State opposes the prayer for bail. We have considered the materials on record including statements of eye witnesses which show victim housewife was subjected to torture by the petitioner. She was assaulted and forced to consume poison. Medical papers show injuries on the forearms of the victim supporting the allegation of physical torture on the day of the incident.

In view of the aforesaid incriminating materials and gravity of the offence, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected at this stage.
