1. This Public Interest Litigation has been filed by a Member of the Legislative Assembly of the State of West Bengal with a three fold prayer. Firstly, to deploy sufficient and adequate number of Armed Central Security Forces in the ensuing Panchayat Election. The second prayer is to set aside the election notification and postpone the election and the third prayer is to conduct the election in phases.

2. All the prayers as sought for by the writ petitioner cannot be granted, as this Court in a common judgment in WPA(P) 250/2023 dated 13.06.2023 has considered the matter and issued certain directions. Thereafter, in another writ petition being WPA(P) 301/2023 dated 15.06.2023, further directions have been issued.

That apart, a contempt application has also been filed which is still pending. The orders passed by this Division Bench dated 13.06.2023 and 15.06.2023 was also upheld by the Hon'ble Supreme Court.

3. In the light of the above, the relief sought for by the writ petitioner in this writ petition cannot be granted.

4. Hence, the instant writ petition stands dismissed.
