Heard learned Advocates appearing for the parties. Petitioner has filed this writ petition being aggrieved by the highly inflated bill which according to the petitioner is arbitrary and illegal since prior to this huge bill for several years every month electric meter reading was Rs.2,000/- to Rs. 3,000/- per month and the impugned bill of Rs. 3 lakhs cannot have any basis.

Learned Advocate appearing for the respondent No.4/Electricity authority submits that the respondent authority have inspected the meter and according to him the impugned bill is justifiable.

Without going into the merits of the contention of the parties, since the petitioner has already made a representation against the grievance raised in this writ petition, before the respondent authority concerned by his letter dated 2nd May, 2023, I am inclined to dispose off this writ petition being WPA 15217 of 2023, by directing the respondent authority concerned to

consider and dispose off the aforesaid representation of the petitioner in accordance with law and by passing a reasoned and speaking order after giving an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner or his authorised representative, within a period of four weeks from the date of communication of this order. Till the final order is passed on the aforesaid representation, no coercive action shall be taken against the petitioner for recovery of the impugned bill. ( Md. Nizamuddin, J. )
