The petitioner alleges that the private respondents under the cover of the officers of the Mathurapur Police Station are threatening the petitioner to lodge false criminal cases against him if the petitioner fails to deposit the demanded sum. A complaint was made before the police stating that the petitioner was compelled to leave his home and family and roaming around like a vagabond.

Learned advocate for the petitioner submits that after order was passed by the Court in WPA 15974 of 2024 on 03.07.2024 in the matter of Sekhar Chakraborty -Vs- The State of West Bengal & Ors. the petitioner was able to return to his home. It has been submitted that the telephonic threat from the police is, however, continuing.

Learned advocate representing the private respondent no. 10 denies the allegation of the petitioner.

Learned advocate representing the State respondents submits, upon instruction that, the petitioner has safely returned to his residence on 26th June, 2024 with full cooperation of the Mathurapur police. He has also made a communication to the police that he is residing there peacefully at present. In view of the above, the instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the parties to maintain law and order.

As regards protection of civil rights, it will be open for the parties to approach the competent civil forum for relief.

The writ petition stands disposed of.
