Affidavit of service filed in Court is taken on record. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits as follows. As per Regulation 6.3.12 of the UGC Regulation, a minimum qualification is required for appointment of teachers and other academic staff in universities and colleges and for maintaining standard in higher education. If a candidate applies for promotion on completion of minimum eligibility period, then the date of promotion will be from the eligibility period. The petitioner was granted a promotion by the University, but the same was not from the date of eligibility i.e. 17.08.2016. Incidentally, in case of some others, such promotions were granted from the date of eligibility. Several representations were made in this regard including on 10.01.2024 and 19.03.2024, but the representations were not even answered.

Learned counsel for the University submits that the representations of the petitioner shall be considered in accordance with law.

It appears that the representations of the petitioner dated 10.01.2024 and 19.03.2024 are pending consideration before the University.

In view of the above, let the respondent authorities especially the respondent Nos.4 and 5 consider the petitioner's above-referred representations in accordance with law and as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of six weeks from the date of communication of this order.

With these observations, the writ petition is disposed of.
