Learned counsel for the petitioner places reliance on the judgments and the legal provisions annexed thereto to reiterate the claim of entitlement to interest for the period of non-payment of the dues of the petitioner. Learned counsel appearing for the alleged contemnors submits at the outset that since the entitlement of the petitioner itself arose only in the month of November, 2021 with the passing of the order, there was no scope for the alleged contemnors disbursing such amount prior to the said period.

As such, it is submitted that no interest is payable by the alleged contemnors to the petitioner on such score. That apart, learned counsel seeks some time to take instructions on the legal provision and judgments cited today by the applicant.

Accordingly, the matter is adjourned and shall next be listed on February 13, 2023.
