The petitioners are aggrieved by the excessive hike in the annual valuation assessed by the Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation without giving any opportunity of hearing to the petitioners.

An objection to the enhancement of annual valuation is pending consideration before the end of the Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation.

Without going into the merits of the claim of the petitioners as it appears that an objection is pending consideration at the end of the Corporation for a considerable period of time, accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of by directing the Joint Municipal Commissioner being the respondent no. 4 to take a decision on the objection filed by the petitioners in accordance with law after giving reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioners to place documents in support to their stand at the earliest but positively within a period of four months from the date of

communication of this order. A reasoned order shall be passed and communicated to the petitioners immediately thereafter.

Learned advocate of the petitioner is directed to forward a copy of the legal representation dated 31st May, 2023 to the aforesaid respondent at the time of communicating the order of the Court.

Affidavit-of-service filed in Court today is taken on record.

The writ petition stands disposed of.

Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
